(003) shaping tech for the classroom
September 27, 2010 / 19:37
Dabbling: The best method for dabbling is to have a few net books distributed to different classes. Students and teachers will be able to experiment with the technology and get use to the technology.
Doing old things in old ways: The general idea for this category is to use the net books for school work such as research, typing out assignments or making power point presentations. Though these things can easily be done at home it may help during group projects when all the members are in class to help contribute.
Doing old things in new ways: A good way of using the technology in a new way is to have online interactive activities. This may help student be more engaged in the lesson. Teachers may also open online forums on their website where students can ask questions.
Doing new things in new ways: One idea that was discussed for this category was record or have a live feed of class lessons. Teachers can set up a live feed for students that are at home sick, or record the lesson and post it on their website for absent students. Though this is a creative method of teaching it may be difficult to set up.
